As the sister board to Danny Davis's Free Thinker, the Deep Thinker adds a directional spin to the freestyle ride anything nature of the Free Thinker. Utilising a state of the art fully directional tapered shape, the Deep Thinker blurs the lines between powder board and freestyle board, creating one of the most versatile all-terrain boards on the market. With its high-end construction, directional camber and that unique shape, not only is this board great in the pow; it also rips on the piste. So, if you're an experienced rider and you're looking for a high performing all terrain board that has more of an off piste flavour, then the Deep Thinker could just be what you're looking for.

Shape Overview
The Deep Thinker utilises a state of the art fully directional tapered shape. This classic snowboard profile is designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail, while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition. The 7mm tapered shape means that the nose is wider than the tail, promoting smooth turn entry and exit, stability at speed, and enhanced deep snow flotation.Now to ensure the Deep Thinker still has what it takes to put it down on groomers and icy run-in's, it features the innovative Frost Bite edges. Frostbite Edges extend out slightly beneath your bindings for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions. Powerful when you need them, playful when you don't, Frostbite Edges are hungry for hard-pack while remaining smooth, flowing, and forgiving.

As the Deep Thinker is all about maximising its performance across such a wide spectrum of riding styles and terrain, Burton utilises their Directional Camber profile. This combination of extended rocker in the nose with a set-back camber under the feet delivers the perfect balance of float and response. Entry rocker causes the nose to lift while camber under both feet maintains momentum and stability through deep-driving turns and variable conditions.

As one of the best performing freestyle/all-terrain boards on the market, the Deep Thinker utilises some of the most up to date construction available. Heading this up is the advanced Squeezebox FSC Super Fly II™ 700G Core with Dualzone™ EGD™. This state of the art profiled wood core uses stronger and lighter woods targeted to specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight. To fine tune the core even further, the wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core. This gives consistent edge-hold and added strength. When it comes to the board's structural layers, once again the Deep Thinker leads the way. Formed from Burton's unique 45° Carbon Highlights glass. Carbon Highlights optimises each layer of the fibreglass matrix and adds a full tip-to-tail carbon layer to reduce weight and fine tune torsional feel to achieve different ride characteristics.
To deliver a super-fast glide in all conditions, the Deep Thinker uses Burtons exclusive WFO Base. This unique base material Infuses a specially formulated wax deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material. This results in an ultra-durable base that stays Wide Open all season in any condition.
