AT LAST, A SHORT WIDE POWDER BOARD FOR WOMEN

Over the years, we've seen a revolution taking place in the world of powder snowboarding. Out has gone those big long-nosed floaters and into their place has stepped the short wide powder board. Replacing length for volume, these boards give unbelievable levels of float. However, the fact that they are small with tight radius sidecuts, also means they're nimble as well. These boards are just a revelation to ride and will have you grinning from ear to ear. However, for some reason, nobody's made these for women, until now. With input from Jamie Anderson, Gnu has created an utterly stunning short wide board that will redefine how you look at snowboarding. Mind blowing in the pow but also great fun on the piste; the Free Spirit might just change your life.

Rider Style
Experienced riders who are looking for a short wide powder board that will deliver mind-blowing performance in the pow but will still put the biggest grin on your face on the piste.

Shape Overview
The Free Spirit's state of the art directional shape has been designed to deliver unrivalled levels of float and control. Replacing length for volume and utilising a wide profiled tip shape, ensures that this is a board that won't bury its nose no matter what you do. At the tail, the cut off shorter length helps sink the back of the board keeping the nose up with little to no effort. It also lets you drive the end of the board through the turn. That turning performance is then further enhanced with the Magne Traction sidecut. This places seven strategically located edge serrations along the length of the sidecut, adding extra traction points ensuring that you get unrivalled edge hold and control.

Profile
As the Free Spirit is all about powder and carving, you need to power up the board. To do this, Gnu utilises their C3 Camber profile. This performance profile blends poppy cambers from the contact points to the inserts with a mild rocker between the feet. This unique profile gives loads of power under the feet to drive the board through the turn but still keeps the tips and centre of the board relatively playful and floaty.

Construction
Internally the Free Spirit utilises Gnu's super light Unreal G3 Eco construction. This is headed up by the Unreal III wood core which combines poplar, lightweight paulownia and Balsa to deliver the perfect balance of pop and power with a super light feel. To this Gnu then form their structural layers from a combination of tri-ax and bi-ax glass. This allows the board's designers to dial in the perfect flex through the length with a more responsive torsional flex for when you need increased control and response. To this Gnu then add their Silky Smooth Bio Dampener. This absorbs high-frequency vibrations which cause foot fatigue, ensuring that the board stays rider friendly all day.

Base
To ensure that the Free Spirit lives up to its billing, Gnu fit it with their sintered base. This fast and tough base material has excellent wax hold and delivers exceptional performance across a broad spectrum of snow conditions.
