POWDER SLAYER THAT RULES OVER THE WHOLE MOUNTAIN

It wouldn't be an over exaggeration to say that Wollie Nyvelt's Sickstick has earned itself a special place in the history of snowboarding. As one of the first boards to blend stunning powder performance with freestyle inspired ride anything versatility, it started a revolution that changed the very face of all-terrain snowboarding. All these years later (thanks to its constant evolution) the Sickstick is still the benchmark when it comes to this unique genre. It's that unique ability to nail every type of terrain and every kind of riding with absolute ease, that has earned it yet another highly coveted Transworld Goodwood award in 2018.

Rider Style
Experienced all-terrain riders looking to push their riding to new levels, both on the mountain and out in the backcountry.

Shape Overview
The Sickstick is built around a versatile tapered twin chassis. It's this state of the art shape that gives the board its unique balance of freestyle control, all-terrain versatility and powder board float. Featuring an extended nose profile for lift and float, and cut back tail for sink and drive, you could easily mistake it for a fully directional board. However, look a little closer, and you'll see that the tail profile mimics that of the nose, it's just been cut back to change the boards riding characteristics. Now to give the Sickstick its predictable ride and help with powder performance, it features 1.2cm of taper. However, the Sickstick isn't just about riding pow, thanks to the advanced Quadralizer sidecut which blends Equalizer lines with Quadratic sections, it still delivers a powerful and rock-solid ride on the piste.

Profile
To ensure that the Sickstick delivers excellent performance across all types of riding and terrain, Salomon utilises their state of the art Rock Out Camber. This complex profile combines rocker zones at the contact points with camber under the feet and a flat section between the bindings. This unique profile delivers a versatile ride ensuring that no matter what or where you ride, you know that this board is never going to feel wanting.

Construction
Internally the Sick Stick is jam-packed with some of the most up to date construction available, so it's no surprise as to why it rides so well. Heading this up is the Popster Ghost Green Core. This combination of sustainable woods combined with lightweight paulownia creates the perfect balance of pop and feel. That pop is perfectly matched to the board thanks to Salomon's unique Popster core profiling which manipulates core thickness through the length, controlling how and where the board flexes. This is all then wrapped with Salomon's ABC Wrapper structural layers. These utilise structural bamboo veneers to reduce the amount of the BA MD fibreglass and resin content in each board by up to 40%. Also, the Sick Sticks standard ABS sidewalls are replaced by bamboo with cork inserts for additional dampening. This environmentally sound construction not only cuts back on petrochemical products used in the board, but it also steps up pop and power.

Base
To finish off the Sickstick's high-end construction, Salomon utilises their tough and fast sintered EG base with fine stone finish. This Galium infused Electra base is both super tough and super-fast, ensuring that this will be one of the fastest boards on the mountain.
